Sunday Service - Kenyan election

Kenyans go to the polls on 4th March. It's mainly to elect a President but there are lots of other roles like regional governors up grabs.
The last presidential elections caused ethnic slaughter of a couple of thousand people and displaced not far off a million people.

This time the lead candidate is Uhuru Kenyatta. An incredibly wealthy man no doubt thanks to being the son of Jomo Kenyatta the countries first president.
He is not his father who was a good man. He is wanted for war crimes and due to stand trial next month at The Hague.
Somehow I think if he becomes president he won't be attending the trial.

He is from the largest tribe the Kikuyu. His rival, Raila Odinga, is from another large tribe the luo's.
There are eight candidates standing but none as utterly corrupt as the front runners.
While I hope there is no repeat of the violence of the past. I guarantee the complete and utter corruption of the country will continue.
It's a great shame as I love the place. Seeing its decline is sad.
